Racism, Politics, Christianity, and Education

This course is based on the highly-reviewed book America’s Unholy Ghosts authored by Joel Goza. America’s Unholy Ghosts is highly recommended, but not required, reading for this course.

Overview

America’s Unholy Ghosts: How Racism Shaped Our Politics, Christianity, and Education is a 4-week course rooted in research and conversation.

Together, we will investigate how American democracy, Christianity, and education were intentionally designed to harmonize with slavery and race-based inequalities. Based on understanding how we came to be, we’ll round the course out by examining ways in which you can be part of fostering an egalitarian environment whether in faith, politics, or education.
